How seawall quote requests work in Punta Gorda

Punta Gorda Seawall Repair is a free quote-request service. You describe the wall once, we pass the request to independent local marine contractors, and they quote you directly.

Free to ask. We are a referral service, not a contractor.

What we do, and what we don't

We read each request and pass it to independent local marine contractors who work in Charlotte County. After that the conversation is between you and them: they look at the wall, write the quote and, if you hire one, do the work under their own contract with you.

We have no crews, barges or equipment. The contractors are independent businesses, not employees of this site. Asking costs you nothing and carries no obligation.

We do

What contractors usually need

A contractor can't price a wall from a description alone, but a good description saves a round of questions before the site visit. Send what you have. None of it is required.

Where it is. Your street and the canal or waterway. It tells a contractor how crews can reach the wall, by land or by water, and which permit paths are likely.

Length and material. The rough length of wall in feet and what it is made of: concrete panels, vinyl or composite, steel sheet or wood. "Not sure" is a fine answer.

Photos at low tide. The cap from above, the face of the wall and the yard behind it. Put a coin next to a crack to show how wide it is.

History and letters. When you first noticed the problem, which storm damaged the wall if one did, and any City or HOA letters you have received about it.

Checking a contractor before you sign

We pass your request to independent contractors; we don't do their licensing or insurance checks for you, and we don't make any promise about their work. Do these yourself with whoever quotes you:

  • Look up the licence. Search the contractor on the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) licence lookup before you sign anything.
  • Ask who pulls each permit. County, FDEP or Army Corps, as the job requires. Have the quote name who is responsible.
  • Get the scope in writing. Length of wall, method, materials, what is removed and restored, and the expected timeline.
  • Compare more than one quote. If a contractor says a job is exempt from a state permit, ask which rule they are relying on.

Licences and permits are matters between you and the contractor. This site does not verify either.

Check with the City first

If your home is on a Punta Gorda canal, ask the City whether your stretch of wall is in its canal maintenance program before you pay for repairs. Only the City can answer that, and we won't guess from a map.

The page on Punta Gorda canal seawalls after Hurricane Ian explains what to ask and what changes if the City's crews are coming.

Your details

The form is sent to us by email through a third-party form service, and it is shared with the local contractors who quote your job. The privacy notice lists what the form collects and how to ask for your details to be deleted.

Describe the wall once. Local marine contractors take it from there.
